Rambler Debaters Earn Top Honors in Semester Finale

Rambler debaters Daewon Hwang and Astrid Palardy won top honors at the annual Bill Todd Debate Tournament hosted since 1991 by the University of Miami. Daewon was the first place speaker among varsity competitors; while Astrid was the first place speaker among the novice competitors.

“This was one of my first tournaments at the collegiate level and it was an incredibly valuable experience,” Astrid noted; I am excited to see where the rest of the year takes me!” Senior team Co-Captain Daewon finished second in speaking at this event last year and stated: “It was exceedingly gratifying to see our hard work take place in a tangible form through both team and individual speaker awards. I would like to thank Loyola University of Chicago, the School of Communication as well as Coach Romanelli for their continued support to the growing team."
