What is your favorite thing about working at Loyola?
Feeling like this is where I belong. Even when I don’t like some of the things that happen, I just think of it as my family.

What is your most memorable achievement as a Loyola employee?
When a student brought me a gift and told me that I saved her from herself. I just advised her to take a look at her life, which was now her own to live and told her she needed to decide if she wanted to get an education, make something of herself, and be able to live on her own or continue to “think” she was grown but always depend on others—just a life lesson.

What does Loyola's mission mean to you?
Our mission “person for others/preparing people to lead extraordinary lives” speaks volumes. There is something special about those of us employed by Loyola. I feel each individual has to already have that spirit of serving when they began working here. I first came to Loyola in April of 1990 and worked in the Office of the Senior Vice President (now Office of the Provost) until 2001. I was blessed to be asked to return to Loyola in 2004 and accepted because of Loyola’s potential for advancement and its culture of diversity. This is just where I feel comfortable.  God has since blessed me, and I love my job, boss, and co-workers.

What motivates you to succeed each and every day?
The students make me feel appreciated and respected, like I’ve done something to help them along the way to achieving their goals.

Tell us how you show your Rambler pride.
I wear maroon and gold whether I’m at work or not, and I wear some of the school gear to work and around town to represent Loyola. I cheer, when the opportunity occurs, at all the activities I attend.

Tell us something most people at Loyola would be surprised to know about you.
I have an 18 year-old daughter who is a freshman here. I also have a 33 year-old son.
