What is your favorite thing about working at Loyola? It’s hard to choose just one thing! I think my answers to the questions below are suitable here as well – but very specifically, I do love the Information Commons building and the experience it affords. I’m very lucky to work there, see the lake up close so often, and be ‘right where the action is’ alongside my team as our main service locations (equipment loan, lab support) are offered there from the Lake Shore Campus.

What is your most memorable achievement as a Loyola employee?Every year I get to witness a group of students come together as Digital Media Advisors student workers who are eager to learn and build their multimedia or professional skills. What they don't realize is that by the end of that year, we see how tightly-knit they become, relying and working together not only to help the University and our communities, but grow as individuals together and cheer one another along for all their successes. It's endlessly inspiring to watch our student workers develop skills and grow as individuals, building confidence, and supporting one another beyond work and onward as they graduate and move to the next chapters of their lives. Hearing updates after they graduate and their successes thereafter is just as rewarding too!

What does Loyola's mission mean to you? We are all constantly growing, learning and evolving. While I work within ITS, where technology rarely remains the same for long, I know so much of what we do across the board at Loyola is similarly never stagnant, and constantly striving to grow. Ranging from sustainability to constantly expanding the student experience, to facing and addressing issues presented at a global scale – we strive to demonstrate and exemplify change that is for the betterment of us all, be it generations in the future or simple steps to make our experiences the next semester (or months or weeks) more impactful and meaningful.

What motivates you to succeed each and every day? We have such a dynamic and stellar community. It’s endlessly inspiring to see how my team and student workers help find solutions to the questions we receive. Just as well, how colleagues and fellow staff and faculty members are so passionate about the roles in which we serve, our ability to collaborate and make an impact on the student experience and their opportunities and experiences.

Tell us how you show your Rambler pride. I think I bought everyone in my family a Final Four t-shirt!

Tell us something most people at Loyola would be surprised to know about you. While I have a personal hobby and passion in creating electronic music, I also discovered an interest in creating video art. In 2014, I helped create a music video that wound up debuting on as a Vogue Magazine website feature and later that week it aired on MTV.
