You’re Invited: Discussion of Loyola’s Strategic Plan

March 10, 2021

Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,

We are pleased to invite you to a discussion on the working draft of Loyola University Chicago’s new Strategic Plan on Friday, March 19 at 10 a.m. Central time. This virtual open forum is designed to give the entire University community an additional opportunity to share their reflections, input, feedback, and suggestions.

Representatives from the 26-member and University-wide Strategic Plan Steering Committee will be on hand to answer your questions about the Plan and to ensure that your suggestions are incorporated into the final version.

This next Strategic Plan will increase Loyola’s agility to respond to rapidly changing conditions and needs over the next five years and well beyond. Built around the faith and values that have fueled Loyola’s work since our founding, the Plan’s exemplars and corresponding metrics will evolve to meet the dynamic needs of our interdependent world. With the benefit of an intensive, inclusive, and iterative communal discernment process, the Loyola community came together as One Loyola to formulate six enduring values that provide the compass for our Strategic Plan’s priorities and exemplars:

  • Care for the whole person
  • Extraordinary academics and research
  • Community-centered engagement
  • Global connections and partnerships
  • Operational excellence
  • Care for our world

Each and every member of the Loyola community is called upon to join collaboratively to live out our mission, enduring values, and guiding principles, as well as help to advance our strategic priorities. True to its inclusive, collaborative, and embracing spirit, the Strategic Plan also serves as an open invitation to all members of the Loyola community to join together in the hard work of implementing our priorities, making difficult resource-allocation decisions, articulating shared metrics for growth, and designing authentic methods of accountability.

Registration for the open forum is now open. Attendees are encouraged to view the Strategic Plan working documents in advance of the webinar, which can be found here.

Students are also encouraged to register and attend the following events in preparation for the larger community presentation. Both will include a brief presentation of the draft of the Strategic Plan followed by time for students to ask questions and share feedback:

Friday, March 12 at 3 p.m. Central time – Register here

Graduate, Professional, and Adult Student Stakeholder Meeting
