LUREC (Loyola University Retreat & Ecology Campus)
August 21-24, 2017

The LUREC Basecamp Adventure is a great first time experience for those looking to connect with fellow first year students and the natural world. Join other incoming students to experience nature, climb, rappel, camp, cook and eat amazing meals, and reflect while in the outdoors all while building friendships that will last your time at Loyola.

Our first day will be spent getting to know each other, packing gear, and heading out to LUREC in Woodstock, Illinois. We will spend our time along the many Black Cherry, Oak, and Maple trees on LUREC's beautiful property - for this time, we'll call our outdoor space home: sleeping, cooking, eating, and reflecting.

During our time in camp we will enjoy the many activity that LUREC has to offer: climbing, rappelling, low ropes, high ropes, and even a day of orienteering at a nearby forest preserve. Amongst all the fun we will be having, we will spend time building relationships and reflecting on our experiences ahead.
