B.O.L.D. Award Spring 2018 Recipients

Studying abroad is one of the many life-changing opportunities Loyola University Chicago has to offer. More students will get the chance to study abroad with the assistance of the Building Opportunities for Leadership through Diversity (B.O.L.D.) Award, a new scholarship that aims to build leadership opportunities for those from diverse backgrounds.

The B.O.L.D. award is structured to support historically underrepresented students studying at Loyola's Global Centers: The John Felice Rome Center (JFRC) and The Vietnam Center (LVC). Ten B.O.L.D. Awards, in the amount of $3,500 each, will be granted to LUC students attending one of Loyola’s Global Centers each academic year. Kaitlin Henderson, a spring 2018 B.O.L.D. award recipient, is living her dream studying at the Vietnam Center which may not have been possible without the help of this resource. She explains, “The opportunity to immerse myself in a cultural society so drastically different from my own has always been a dream of mine. I did not think it was possible due to financial struggles, but thanks to the B.O.L.D scholarship I’ve been able to experience study abroad and all it has to offer.”
