Summers in Chicago are like no other. Experience the excitement of the season while earning credits for your degree with on-campus or online classes. Dive into our available programs and find the credits that are right for you. On-campus housing options are available to enrolled students.
The class of 2024 is also invited to join this summer's Living-Learning Community: Summer in the City. This program’s coursework offers Chicago-centric material focusing on Chicago arts, culture, and history.

Frequently asked questions
How many course credits do I have to take to be eligible for housing?
To be eligible for on-campus housing, students must be registered for at least 3 credit hours during the Summer Session(s) in which they wish to be living on campus. Students can apply to live on campus for Summer Session A, Summer Session B, or both Summer Sessions, as long as the student is registered for at least 3 credit hours during the session(s) during which they plan to live on campus.

What is a Living-Learning Community?
Joining the Summer in the City Living-Learning Community will allow you to live together in the residence halls and take a UNIV 102 Loyola Seminar course with other students who share your interest in learning about Chicago. LEARN MORE ABOUT THE BENEFITS OF LIVING-LEARNING COMMUNITIES
What session will the Summer in the City Living-Learning Community be offered?
To join the Summer in the City Living-Learning Community, students will submit a summer housing application and indicate their interest in joining the LLC. Students must also register for their summer classes, including UNIV 102 Loyola Seminar: Summer in the City (1 credit) in Summer Session A (or in Summer Session B, if the student is not taking any classes in Summer Session A).
How many students will be accepted into the Summer in the City Living-Learning Community?
There are currently 40 spots available for Session A and 40 spots available for Session B (for students who are not taking classes in Session A).
Is financial aid available for Summer Sessions classes and on-campus housing?
Do students have to quarantine to live on campus this summer?
Students moving on campus for the summer only need to self-isolate until they. receive their first negative SHIELD test. Students are encouraged to set up their MyShield account prior to campus arrival and are expected to test on their arrival date. If this schedule is followed, students will only isolate for 24 hours until results are received. Once negative results are received, students are welcome to move about campus freely.
