Course DescriptionThis course explores the study of the biological history of the human species from its inception to the establishments of food producing societies. Students will demonstrate understanding of basic biological principles (heredity, physiology, evolutionary mechanisms, ecology) in the context of their application to the human condition, as well as the role of cultural behavior in defining the distinctiveness of that condition.
Prerequisite/sUCSF 137 for students admitted to Loyola University for Fall 2012 or later. No requirement for students admitted to Loyola prior to Fall 2012 or those with a declared major or minor in the Department of Anthropology, Department of Biology, Department of Chemistry, Department of Environmental Science, Department of Physics, Bioinformatics, Forensic Science or Neuroscience.
