Course DescriptionThe course will introduce the historical development of Islamic civilization and the formation of Muslim social and political institutions from the 7th century to the present. Students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the historical development and diversity of Islamic beliefs, practices, and institutions in varied regional contexts and historical periods.
Prerequisite/sHIST 101, HIST 102, HIST 103, or HIST 104 for students admitted to Loyola University for Fall 2012 or later. No requirement for students with a declared major or minor in History.
