Course Description
Non-calculus introduction to vectors, kinematics, Newtonian mechanics of translational, rotational, and oscillatory motion, energy and momentum conservation, and thermodynamics. Students will gain an understanding of analytical description of motion and application of conservation laws; develop scientific insight and proficiency in solving representative problems.Registration for Phys 111 sec 117 includes automatic registration for Phys 111 217, an additional mandatory discussion hour.
