Encourage your students to take part in an environmental immersion this summer
Dear Colleagues,
My name is Charlie Bilodeau, and I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and explain an exciting new Pre-Collegiate Summer Scholar's Program at Loyola University Chicago entitled Environmental Sustainability and Stewardship.
As a former Environmental Science teacher at Stevenson High School, I was constantly trying to provide classroom and field experiences for my students. What I soon realized was that for many of my students, the critical message of sustainability and restoration needed to be extended beyond the scope and sequence of their high school classes. Through my association with the Loyola University Retreat and Ecology Campus in Woodstock, Illinois I have discovered an incredible resource for those students who are passionate about conservation efforts.
I would strongly urge you to visit the Environmental Scholars web site to learn in greater detail the opportunities available to your students. This one-week mini course is being offered to any rising junior or senior who wants to gain an up close and interpersonal perspective on Restorative Ecology and Sustainable Agriculture. Additionally, your students will earn 1 college credit from Loyola's Environmental Science Department.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions regarding this new program.
Sincerely,

Charlie Bilodeau Environmental Scholars Director cbilode@luc.edu
