About

Stephanie Folk is the marketing communications manager for the School of Environmental Sustainability. She works with the dean, faculty, and staff to develop and implement communications strategies that advance the school’s mission of engaging students in understanding and responding to global and local environmental issues.

Folk came to Loyola in 2022 from the University of Chicago, where she served as senior assistant director of development communications for the Division of Medicine and Biological Sciences. Previously, she managed communication and outreach activities for Northwestern University’s campus sustainability program, sustainNU. She has also worked in the nonprofit sector, promoting energy efficiency programs for the Chicago-based organization Elevate. She gained a broad understanding of local sustainability issues and aquatic ecosystems in previous roles as a graduate assistant and writer for University of Wisconsin Sea Grant, an educator at Shedd Aquarium, and the media and public relations coordinator for the Chicago Wilderness Alliance.
