About

Growing up in Cleveland, Ohio, Zach attended St. Ignatius High School before moving to Chicago to attend Loyola University Chicago. Zach graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Communication before going on to complete an MBA with a concentration in Entrepreneurship from Loyola.

During his undergraduate studies at Loyola, Zach participated in the first inception of the University's Solutions to Environmental Problems (STEP) Biodiesel course as part of the Communication and Marketing Team. STEP's unique, interdisciplinary approach to environmental education drew Zach's attention away from broadcast news as he began to focus on communicating the complex issues of sustainability to those outside the scientific field. After completing the STEP course, Zach continued as Biodiesel Lab Intern.

Zach currently serves as the Senior Project Manager overseeing the day-to-day management of the Biodiesel Program and mentors Loyola students working in the Biodiesel Lab. Zach works daily forward the long-term goal of being a Zero Waste, financially self-sustaining program. He is particularly interested in businesses that utilize local, traditional waste products to create community resources and jobs.
