Shanna Yetman serves as the part-time Communications Coordinator for the Institute of Environmental Sustainability. She is the primary writer/editor for the Institute’s e-Newsletter, annual report and a number of other communications materials that come out of IES. She also regularly coordinates media requests and updates the website. Yetman has worked to strategically market a number of the Institute’s initiatives including the annual climate change conference, Healing Earth, LUREC and IES student enrollment. At IES, she has worked to improve both internal and external communications and has collaborated to develop the Student Bulletin Board, Student e-blast and Dean's Bulletin.

Yetman's fiction has most recently appeared online in Jellyfish Review, Bullets into Bells, and the Chicago Literati. Her story, The Miracle Is to Walk this Earth, was the winner for the New Millennium Writings 39th Competition for flash fiction. This same piece also received an honorable mention from Glimmer Train for their Family Matters Flash Fiction Contest. She is a 2014 recipient of Chicago's Individual Artist Grant Program sponsored by DCASE (Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events).
