Cycle and Recycle Center

What is the Cycle & Recycle Center?

The Cycle & Recycle Center is the spot on Lake Shore Campus for disposing of all of your difficult to recycle items in one place! We have a number of bins set up for items you probably have around your dorm, apartment, or home that you are looking to get rid of in a responsible way. On top of doing what’s right, Loyola earns points for prizes with each pound of special items we recycle.

Where is it located? The center is located on the south side of Loyola’s main parking garage, just past the Welcome Center and next to the Chainlinks bike shop.

What can I recycle here?

The center collects and recycles items you may have around, such as:

  • Beach Plastics
  • Gently and well-used clothing
  • Used books
  • Air Pockets from packaging
  • Plastic film
  • Shredded paper
  • Empty personal-care products (shampoo bottles, toothpaste tubes, beauty packaging, etc.)
  • Energy Bar Wrappers
  • Small electronics

When can I drop off my items? Anytime! We have bins for all collected items sitting in our corner of the parking garage, so stop by whenever is most convenient for you

What if the center doesn’t collect an item I need to have recycled? We are always looking for ways to expand our program and add new items for the collection. Feel free to email us with suggestions or questions at sustainability@luc.edu.
