Loyola University Chicago

School of Environmental Sustainability

Loyola University Chicago Staff members are responsible for a large number of projects. This opens up opportunities to make decisions that improve the workspace and function that support the University's operations on a daily basis.

Along with overseeing your workspace, planning events and moreā€”take the time to become informed on various topics related to environmental sustainability. We have monthly events that include tours, field trips, films, and speakers. Check out our calendar for dates, times and details.

Greening Your Work

To assist you in determining how to improve, we have prepared some guides for you to use to increase conservation and efficiency.

Green Office: A simple guide with ideas and actions for making your office or workspace greener.

Green Events: A set of guidelines for running meetings or events, from the small to the very large. Checklists let you see how green you can make your event.

Serve on a Sustainability Committee

Participating in Loyola's sustainability programs and related initiatives directly is a great way to collaborate with colleagues in other departments. Plus you bring fresh perspectives and have the knowledge specific to your work that can be shared and integrated with advancing sustainability at Loyola.

Health & Benefits Actions

Human Resources and Academic Affairs have programs that encourage healthy living and sustainable life/work arrangements.

Enjoy Local, Sustainably Produced Food

You can also take part in the Local Food Movement by supporting the student-run community gardening and sustainable agriculture endeavors. Visit the Farmers Market at Loyola Ave & Sheridan Rd all summer for fresh, local foods.
