COVID-19 Update

It is with regret that we have decided to cancel the 2021 Summer Institute, due to the continued suspension of some campus operations amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. One hallmark of our program is that students live on Loyola’s Lake Shore Campus for the week. The pandemic has complicated our ability to host students as we normally would, so we made the difficult decision to cancel this year.

We are planning on hosting our Summer Institute in 2022, and we are also developing our new THEA Fellowship program for high school students in Chicago-area schools. THEA Fellowship is a mentorship program that will connect high school students with college mentors for a school year (August to May). Learn more!

To stay updated on the 2022 Summer Institute and our new THEA Fellowship for the 2021-2022 school year, subscribe to our newsletter where we make announcements first. If you have questions about our program or resources, please email us: thea@luc.edu

THEA is a proud member of the Youth Theology Network (YTN), a national network of programs for high school students at colleges, universities, and theological schools. YTN programs work to identify, ignite, and cultivate the gifts of a new generation of Christian leaders who will make an impact in the world. To explore other YTN programs, including summer programs that may run either virtually or in person for Summer 2021, visit the Youth Theology Network website.
