Military Veteran Student Services (MVSS) supports military affiliated students at Loyola. Through academic and social programming, MVSS staff assists students in identifying the correct resources that will empower them to reach their full potential, ensuring the greatest impact in the community and beyond.   

Loyola University Chicago is a participant in the Yellow Ribbon Program which supplements uncovered mandatory charges for qualifying students. Loyola uniquely offers no limit on any academic program with the  exception of the medical school.

Loyola accepts credit earned in the military, so veteran students are usually considered for transfer admission.

REQUIREMENTS FOR TRANSFER ADMISSION

  • A minimum of 20 credits.
  • A minimum of 12 credits from college coursework, completed and with letter grades at the time of application.
  • If you only have military credit, or fewer than 12 credits of college coursework, you must provide official high school transcripts.

Application Process

1. Complete the application.

You can apply through the free online application. 

2. Send your transcript(s).

  • Military Transcripts
    • Army, Marine Corps, Navy, and Coast Guard transcripts can be requested at the Joint Services Transcript site.
    • Air Force transcripts can be requested through the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF)/Air Force University Online Transcript System.
  • College Transcripts: Send transcripts from all post-secondary institutions you’ve attended.
  • High School Transcripts: Send high school transcripts only if you have fewer than 12 credit hours of college coursework.

Transcripts may be sent electronically by school officials to admissionforms@luc.edu.

*For added flexibility during the admission process, we accept unofficial transcript(s) for conditional admission. However, official transcript(s) are required to receive a transfer credit evaluation report before you register for classes.

3. OPTIONAL: Submit resumes, essays/personal statements, and SAT/ACT test scores (no older than 5 years).

Admitted veteran students who choose to enroll are exempt from the $500 deposit that is required for enrollment. If you’ve been accepted and would like to enroll, contact transfer@luc.edu to request the waiver.
