All students will be required to obtain a visa* in order to study at the Vietnam Center. Visa application fees typically cost about $175 USD and are not included in your program costs. We recommend US passport holders obtain their visa on arrival in Vietnam. You will receive detailed application instructions for this Vietnamese visa via your LUC email.
Included in this email will be an invitation letter that you must include with your visa application. If you are arriving near or on the start date of the program, you will be charged a $35 fee for this letter. If you are arriving before the start date, you will be responsible for securing your own letter. You will not be able to apply for your visa until you have received this letter, so please do not attempt to apply without it. It is very important that you make sure you have a clear passport image uploaded to your study abroad application. Please make sure that your passport is valid at least 6 months beyond the conclusion of your semester in Vietnam, is signed, and that your image shows all of this clearly.
If you choose to obtain your visa prior to departure, it will take about two weeks for the Vietnamese embassy in Washington, D.C. to process your application. Either way, we will work with you to make sure you have all of the required documentation for your application.
*If you hold a non-US passport, you will need to do your own research on your visa requirements. Different countries have different requirements. Email Vietnam@LUC.edu, if you have any questions.
