About Ho Chi Minh City
Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), also known as Saigon, is a bustling metropolis of roughly 8.5 million people located in southeastern Vietnam and is the largest city in the country. You will fly in and out of Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN is the airport code) for your time in Vietnam. This airport serves many popular travel destinations in Southeast Asia and is a great hub for any personal travel to Thailand, the Philippines, Bali, Malaysia, and many other amazing destinations. When you arrive, you will be greeted by a Vietnam Center staff member or a Bach Khoa partner student to assist you with getting to your dormitory and get you settled for your incredible adventure.
Our Vietnam Center is spread out over various points across HCMC. The dormitory is located in District 10, you will take classes at the Ho Chi Minh City Open University campus in District 1, and the administrative office for the Vietnam Center is also located in District 1. Students commonly take public buses, taxis, or even walk between locations with no problems. You will become very familiar with these places, as well as wherever your service learning or internship placement is in the city. Ho Chi Minh City is incredibly safe and you will find the people very welcoming.
