Dr. David deBoer is a licensed clinical psychologist and Director of Counseling for the Wellness Center. Dr. deBoer earned his doctorate in Psychology and Human Development at the University of Chicago. Dr. deBoer has worked with youth in a variety of contexts. A former high school teacher, Dr. deBoer has also worked as a clinical psychologist with young people dealing with chronic medical illness.  What Dr. deBoer enjoys most about his work at the Wellness Center is the opportunity to help individuals overcoming obstacles to realizing their fullest potential in their studies and in all aspects of their lives. Areas of interest include interpersonal/psychodynamic psychotherapy, LGBT student concerns, graduate and professional student concerns, crisis assessment and intervention. Outside of work, Dr. deBoer enjoys spending time outdoors, exercising, and exploring the city with his family.
