    Nicole Sumida is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who joined Arrupe College in August 2018. She received her Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Illinois at Chicago and completed her Master’s degree in Social Work degree at Loyola University Chicago in 2002. Nicole has worked in a variety of settings including a hospital-based mental health center, an inpatient psychiatric facility and a nonprofit agency with individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Her clinical interests include the treatment of anxiety and depression from a cross-cultural perspective, family and relationship difficulties and the effects of intergenerational trauma on development. In her spare time, Nicole publishes a web magazine that promotes artistic/literary work by Asian Americans. She is an equity activist in her community and enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and walking in the woods.
