Meaghan is presently pursuing a Master’s in Social Work and Master’s in Women’s Studies and Gender Studies at Loyola University Chicago. In addition to working as a Teaching Assistant for WSGS, Meaghan is an elected member of the School of Social Work Student Organization Leadership Committee and a social work intern with Chicago Public Schools. While working as a Children's Rights Graduate Scholar at the Center for the Human Rights of Children (2017-2018), Meaghan authored "Sex Trafficking of Transgender and Gender Nonconforming Youth in the United States," a report that will be utilized by a network of agencies in their support for young people. Meaghan continues to engage with, and present on, this topic whenever possible.
Meaghan is committed to equitable education, restorative practices in schools and the justice system, anti-oppression work, and the rights and equitable treatment of transgender and gender nonconforming youth. When they are not feeling very 'academic,' Meaghan attends a book club, hangs out with their grandparents, and rides their bike around Rogers Park.
