Linda Brubaker, MD, MS

Linda Brubaker, MD, MS, is a well-known reconstructive pelvic surgeon and board-certified specialist in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery who has served as the president and program chairs of both the American Urogynecologic Society and the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons. She is a member of the prestigious Society of Pelvic Surgeons. She is also a member of the subspecialty division in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Brubaker is the associate editor of the Journal of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. She is a prolific researcher with over 244 publications and 30 chapters to her credit. In addition, she has chaired committees on Pelvic Organ Prolapse (2006, 2009) and Research (2012) for the International Consultations on Incontinence. Her research interests include patient-centered outcomes in reconstructive pelvic surgery and the female urinary microbiome.

Currently at Loyola, Dr. Brubaker is a tenured professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, with a conjoint appointment in the Department of Urology. The Loyola Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery unit is well known for high-quality clinical care, National Institutes of Health–funded research productivity, educational contributions, and administrative expertise. She is also dean of Loyola’s Stritch School of Medicine.

Dr. Brubaker earned a BA with honors from the University of Illinois at Chicago and an MS in Clinical Research Design and Statistical Analysis (2004) from the University of Michigan. She received her medical degree and completed her medical training at Rush University, where she established the first
Division of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery in the Midwest.

Dr. Brubaker has received multiple awards, including induction into the American Osteopathic Association (2013), Alpha Sigma Nu, the Jesuit Honor Society, the 2007 Excellence in Teaching Award from the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics, the 2003 Rush Medical College Distinguished Alumni Award, and various faculty teaching awards.
