Lane Vail

Research Associate

Lane Vail is a Research Associate for CUERP and works as Science Team Leader for CUERP’s Clean Air Clean Water (CACW) program. 

Lane received a B.A. in Art History from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2002.  She returned to school to study biology in 2004, taking courses at the City Colleges of Chicago and Northeastern Illinois University.  In summer 2006, she received a CUERP fellowship to conduct research at the University of Michigan Biological Station, studying the effects of an invasive plant on the biogeochemistry of a Great Lakes coastal wetland.  She also worked at CUERP in 2006 as GIS assistant.  In 2007, she entered the Biology Graduate Program at Loyola and received her M.S. in Biology with an emphasis in aquatic ecology in September 2009.

Lane is currently conducting research for CUERP and CACW, studying the effects of pharmaceuticals and personal care products on stream quality and function.
