Health Care Ministry Leadership Certificate
The Certificate in Health Care Ministry Leadership is designed for associates across Catholic health care who wish to deepen their understanding of the theological, ethical, and practical elements of the mission and ministry of Catholic health care. It is designed for those who wish to do "mission-in-place"—to enhance the work they do in finance, patient services, clinical care and more through engagement with the foundations of Catholic health care.
This certificate program is open to those with undergraduate or graduate degrees.
To complete this 15-credit hour certificate, students can choose any five courses in the areas of Catholic identity, mission, ministry, ethics, health care administration and leadership from the curriculum for the MA in Health Care Mission Leadership. This flexibility allows those who have strong backgrounds in health care administration to focus their coursework in the theological disciplines, while those with backgrounds in theology may, for example, choose to focus on organizational development.
The structure of the Certificate allows interested candidates to continue their studies toward the MA in Health Care Mission Leadership.
Like the MA in Health Care Mission Leadership, this Certificate program is a collaborative venture between Loyola's Institute of Pastoral Studies, Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing and Neiswanger Institute of Bioethics. All of the courses can be completed online.
