Illinois Community Colleges

Following is a listing of courses offered at select Illinois community colleges which may be accepted  for transfer credit in Loyola’s Core Curriculum.  Loyola University Chicago's Core Curriculum includes 16 required courses spread across 10 knowledge areas. The Core is designed to reinforce learning of effective skills, including communication, critical thinking, ethical awareness, information literacy, quantitative and qualitative analysis and research methods, and technological literacy and also to promote students' understanding of the values of Justice, Faith and Spirituality, and Diversity which are central to Loyola's Jesuit education.

We encourage you to use this guide as you select your courses.  Please Note: These guides do not show all transferable courses. They also do not show Loyola courses that will fulfill specific  major requirements. These guides are intended to be used as planning tools.

Loyola University Chicago is a participant in the Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI), beginning Fall 2013. In an effort to best meet the needs of students, the terms of the IAI will be honored for all transfer students. For more information please visit our Core Webpage.

All Loyola undergraduates must satisfy the Engaged Learning Requirement. Engaged Learning courses may be part of the Core Curriculum, a student’s major/minor, or an elective.
