About

Originally from the Detroit area, Caitl received their BA in German, English, and Linguistics at the University of Michigan. They then moved to Philadelphia to study at the University of Pennsylvania, completing a PhD in Linguistics in 2012. After working for five years as faculty at the University of York in England, they decided it was time to try something new and returned to the Midwest, where they worked for several years for a non-profit called Community Peacemaker Teams, before finally finding their way to Loyola. Caitl is excited to use their various experiences to support students, helping them achieve success no matter what their personal goals may be.

In their free time, Caitl likes to watch movies (especially horror), work with their hands, play video games, collect fountain pens, drink too much coffee, and take naps. They are also working on a second PhD in Higher Education. They continue to collaborate on research within linguistics, combining it with their new studies to explore issues in linguistic teaching and pedagogy.
