Polk Bros. Foundation

The collaboration between Chicago Public Schools (CPS) Network 2 and Loyola University Chicago’s Center for Science and Math Education (Loyola CSME) is funded by Loyola’s Schools 2020 Partnership and the Polk Bros. Foundation. The partnership supports teachers’ use of instructional strategies that promote a positive climate and culture aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).  Teachers from five CPS schools in the Roger’s Park neighborhood attend quarterly professional learning (PL) sessions and collaborate with Loyola CSME instructional coaches to align their science instruction with the NGSS.  The project also works very closely with Loyola’s Schools 2020 initiative to strategically direct resources to support science education in these schools.
