I am currently the Undergraduate Health Administration Program Director at Loyola University Chicago. For more than 20 years, I've worked in operations and process improvement as a senior level healthcare executive. I have served in roles where I led large scale organizational change, improved employee and patient engagement, and ensured the efficient and effective delivery of patient care. I also have held senior roles in higher education and consulting.

Research Interests

My research focuses on the evaluation of employee and patient engagement and the impact on healthcare outcomes. In addition to research, I serve as a Baldrige examiner at the state and local level.

Education
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing, South Suburban College
  • Bachelor of Healthcare Adminstration, Governor's State University
  • Master of Healthcare Administration, Governor's State University
  • Doctor of Health Administration, Central Michigan University
  • Master of Business Administration, University of Chicago

What prompted you to pursue your field?

I went into healthcare leadership after working with amazing leaders at a Chicago area hospital when I was early in my career as a nurse. These leaders encouraged me to take on roles with leadership responsibilities and return to school for additional. education. I have been fortunate to work as a leader in many areas of health administration. I am particularly interested in the areas of employee and patient engagement and the relationship between these areas and measurable outcomes in healthcare.

What called you to or attracted you to Loyola?

I was drawn to the mission of Loyola. As a Chicago native I was well aware of the the University's reputation, but when I interviewed and met with various individuals in the Parkinson School, I knew I wanted to be a part of making a difference in the lives of our students and join this incredible team.
