Welcoming Our New Vice President for Mission Integration:
Claire Noonan, D.Min

Dear Loyola Community,
We are pleased to announce that Claire Noonan, D.Min, is joining the Loyola University Chicago community as vice president for mission integration, effective July 1, 2022. She succeeds Janet W. Sisler, who retired from Loyola in December after her faithful service as vice president and director of the Gannon Center.
In Claire’s role as our new vice president for mission integration, she will provide a critical link between the University, the global Society of Jesus, and the Midwest Jesuit Province. Given her scholarship and experience, she will set direction for future Mission Priority Examens and provide recommendations to further enhance the Jesuit mission of higher education at Loyola while ensuring our focus remains on operational excellence.
In addition to this important work, Claire will serve as a committee liaison to Loyola’s Board of Trustees’ Committee for Jesuit Catholic Identity, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion along with Dominique Jordan Turner, vice president of institutional diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Since 2008, Claire has worked at Dominican University in various capacities. Most recently, she served as vice president for mission and planning. Prior to her roles at Dominican, Claire was a Loyola Rambler earlier in her professional life. She served as Loyola’s director of ministry for the Jesuit First Studies Program until 2008 and was a chaplain to our students in the former Division of University Ministry.
Recognized as a leader in national conversations on mission integration and effectiveness and a published author on spirituality, higher education, and Catholic thought, Claire has collaborated and presented at the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities (ACCU); Council of Independent Colleges Network for Vocation in Undergraduate Education; Interfaith Youth Core; and Dominican Higher Education Council. Last month, she participated in ACCU’s discussion on “Synodality and the Role of the Catholic Higher Education.” Some of her most recent articles include “Practicing Our Ideals: How the Interfaith Campus Can Restore Civil Discourse” published in Diverse Issues in Higher Education and “Sharing the Bread of God’s Love” and “Together We Share, Grow and Rejoice! Daily Reflections, Prayers and Actions” in Twenty-Third Publications.
She currently serves on the board of trustees of the Jesuit Catholic Identity Committee of Christ the King Jesuit College Prep in Chicago and on the board of directors of Community of Congregations, an interfaith organization that contributes to community dialogue in the Oak Park and River Forest communities and is their past president.
Claire achieved her Ecumenical Doctor of Ministry from the Catholic Theological Union after writing a dissertation about the spiritual exercises of St. Ignatius and college students. Her Master of Divinity was earned at the Jesuit School of Theology at Berkeley, and her Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, is from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.
