DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) Wellness Committee
This is a closed group for our DACA students on campus. We are the first place that students can go to for help, advice, and resources. The DACA Committee was recently established in collaboration with MSU, and we hope to foster solidarity and advocate for student wellness. Our committee goals include:
- Building community through recognizing our shared American identities, breaking stereotypes/misconceptions, and using our privileges to provide social support for undocumented immigrants
- Workshops related to advocacy and how you can best support DACA students
- Information Sharing by staying up to date with politics and informing allies and DACA recipients on next steps and learning the stories of your own peers
- Mentorship by developing a professional network within Stritch faculty, alumni, and immigrant advocacy organizations
