Advancing the National Catholic School Standards Conference
This conference is co-sponsored by CCSE and NCEA for Catholic school leaders, teacher leaders, presidents, and diocesan leaders who want to learn more about the National Standards and Benchmarks for Effective Catholic elementary and Secondary Schools. Working with nationally recognized educators and authors of the Standards, participants will explore what’s in the standards, examine why so many schools and dioceses are embracing them, learn about benefits and challenges of implementation from schools and dioceses already implementing, and connect to national initiatives and resources. School teams will come away with knowledge, skills, resources, tools, and good ideas for using the standards to improve and promote their schools.

*************************************************************
This conference, held annually in November at Loyola University Chicago, Water Tower Campus, is co-sponsored by CCSE and NCEA for principals, assistant principals, department chairs, curriculum leaders, assistant superintendents, and teacher leaders. Through workshop and networking sessions, nationally recognized educators connect theory and research-based practices to Catholic school instructional leadership needs and experiences. Participants gain knowledge, resources, and tools, and have the opportunity to network with other Catholic educational leaders.
Join Catholic educational leaders from across the nation to examine and explore proven change strategies that lead to systemic, sustainable growth and improvement in K-12 Catholic schools.
CONFERENCE OUTCOMES
Weaving together theory, best practices, research, and experience, participants will be able to:
- Apply understanding of the discernment process to leading change in their schools
- Describe and reflect on systems, structures and routines that successful leaders put into place to develop and sustain a climate and culture that promotes ownership and strong academic achievement
- Examine two case studies of Catholic schools that accomplished a school-saving turn-around (one elementary school, one high school) to identify successful change strategies to use and unsucsessful strategies to avoid in their schools.
- Map a draft implementation plan to support integrated, systemic, sustainable change in their schools.
