B. Support for Teachers

The IDS program supports teachers by providing:

  • Over 100 hours of appropriate and hands-on professional development;

  • a course planning guide including a set of 30 model lessons, literacy strategies, and content-enhancement for each curriculum;

  • intensive, regular, low-ratio coaching;

  • graduate students two-days per week to assist in organizing and preparing classroom materials, and;

  • formative and summative assessments along with training in data driven instruction.
