Tertiary-Level Demonstration Project
CSEIT is working with the Illinois Positive Behavior Support Network and the University of Kansas on a joint research effort funded by the U.S. Department of Education. The partners are currently involved in successful implementation of the above components in Illinois and Kansas and will apply tools and practices that have proven effective for improving outcomes for individual students with complex needs. The project focuses on :
- Multi-tiered professional development (i.e. district and building coaches positioned to ensure implementers are guided with high enough dosage of hands-on practice to ensure fidelity and sustainability of skills/practices
- Data-based decision-making systems/tools designed to ensure proactive evidenced-based (e.g. less reactive) practices for those students with highly complex needs including those with EBD, Autism and other severe disabilities.
Involvement by CSEIT includes program evaluation and development of support models for students in secondary school environments.
