Students
All registered students will receive $3.50 Printwise Dollars (equivalent to 50 single-sided Black & White pages) on their Loyola University campus card ID after class registration closes each semester during the academic year. Unused allocations do not carry over from each year and are non-transferable to other cardholders. Additional Rambler Bucks funds may be added for printing to campus cards online or through the Campus Card office.
Alumni
Alumni may print from lab printers with a Courtesy Card. These are available to purchase for $1 and funds can be added later at any time from the multiple Value Port terminals located around each campus.
Faculty and Staff
Faculty may request PrintWise allocations for research by completing an online allocation request form. Requests will be processed within 72 hours. For all other printing, use office printers for business-related laser printing.
Adding Funds
If PrintWise Dollars are depleted, printing costs will be deducted from cardholder's Rambler Bucks account. Additional funds can be added to the Rambler Bucks account through the following methods:
Cash deposits at any Value Port terminals
Credit/Debit deposits online at https://luc.netcardmanager.com
Printing from a Multimedia Lab Computer
When printing from a lab computer, a Print Job Details dialog box will appear. Create a name and password specific for that print job then click Print. A message in the system tray will appear indicating how many pages were sent to the printer and the cost of the print job.
At the printer, swipe your Loyola ID at the touch screen release station, select the print job with the given name and enter the password. It will then deduct the amount stated and print all pages.
Double-Sided (Duplex) Printing
All printers in the open-access computer labs have the ability to print double-sided (duplex). As this method saves paper, the cost to print is reduced from that of printing two singled-sided sheets. To print duplex from a PC, select File > Print, select Print Properties and select the Flip Over or Flip Up option. On a Mac in the Print menu, change Copies & Pages to Layout, and select Long or Short Edge. At the printer, do not touch the sheets until the complete job has finished printing.
OnePrint / Printing from your Laptop
OnePrint allows for personal computers or laptops from on-campus wireless connection and retrieve the jobs within 2-hours from any of the standard ITS computer lab printers. Visit OnePrint for more information for frequently asked questions, downloading and installing instructions.
Refunds
If there are significantly streaked, faded, smudged, spotty or creased printouts, refunds are available. Fill out a PrintWise Refund Request Form available at any staffed computer lab location. Submit the completed form with the attached bad printout to a lab advisor. Refund requests will be reviewed and processed within 7-10 days. If your refund is approved, Campus Card will credit your PrintWise or Rambler Bucks account. If your refund is denied, an ITS representative will contact you and explain why.
User errors such as typos or printing the wrong document will not be refunded. To prevent printing blank sheets as the final page, be sure to preview the document before printing. Modify the page range to print the exact page numbers you wish if necessary.
If there is a paper jam while your job is printing, do not turn off the printer. The printer will re-print your job once the jam has been cleared. PrintWise will not charge for lost pages due to a paper jam and will only deduct funds once the job has successfully printed. If you experience a paper jam or other printer problems, contact a lab advisor for immediate assistance.
