Genesis Multicultural Student Welcome Reception

First Year Nia with Upperclassman Meha at Genesis 2010

With its campus partners, the Department of Student Diversity & Multicultural Affairs welcomes new students of color and their families to the Loyola University Chicago community and shares invaluable information about the many campus resources available to support the unique transition to college life. Join our network of students, faculty and staff as we come together to honor your momentous new beginning!

This reception also provides students with the opportunity to sign up for our Students Together Are Reaching Success (STARS) program, a signature department program. Students who choose to participate, will:
  • Be paired with upper-class peer mentors, who will help them find a place in the Loyola community and help them to get to know the Chicago area. Mentors will also work with students to develop their personal, academic, social and cultural experiences through programming and tutoring.
  • Develop leadership skills and learn about research opportunities.
  • Become eligible to apply for financial scholarships of up to $1000, to help off-set tuition costs.
To RSVP for the Genesis Multicultural Student Welcome Reception, please e-mail diversity@luc.edu.  For more information about the STARS Program, please go to our STARS Main page.
