Loyola Supports Love
Formerly GLTBQ Awareness Week and LGBTQA Awareness Month, LGBTQA Heritage Month expanded last year into a full month of programs, events, and workshops that bring awareness to issues affecting the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer community and their Allies.

Monday, October 4th
Kick-Off with Performance Poet KrisDeLaRash
5-6pm, CFSU Main Lobby (LSC)
This event highlights performance poet KrisDeLaRash. KrisDeLaRash Beauford is a student/poet/singer/songwriter from the south side of Chicago. Her work explores identity through reflection and critique with a hint of optimism.
Out in the Workplace: A Panel Discussion

featuring LGBTQ Loyola alumni who share their experiences of navigating the workplace and being out at work.
Thursday, October 14th
Social Justice Dinner Dialogue: Carina Pasquesi Bisexual & Trans Identity and Experience
7:30pm-9:00pm, Bremner Lounge
Loyola’s Queer Theory Professor Carina Pasquesi speaks to Bisexual and Trans Identity and experience. Pasquesi’s research interests include American literature, queer studies, feminist theory, and sexual subcultures.

Do you want to increase your understanding of issues that LGBTQ populations face? Would you like to develop skills to advocate for LGBTQ community members and meet fellow allies?

This year Loyola is proud to be hosting Chicago's annual collegiate Coming-Out ball, welcoming students throughout Chicago.

Film Screening: Fish Out of Water
7pm-9pm, Regis Multipurpose Room
Fish out of Water is a documentary that explores the impassioned relationship between homosexuality and the Bible. The screening will be followed by a discussion and Q&A with Director and Executive Producer Ky Dickens.
Thursday, October 28th
The Queens of DRAG
7:30pm-10:30pm, Bremner Lounge-CFSU
Taj Mahal, Dida Ritz, and Kelly Lauren take to the stage to show the Loyola campus some gender-bending at its best! Performance to be followed by half hour Q&A with the performers.
