Black Women's Retreat 2008
“Our Loyolan Legacy: Our Journey towards Success”
The Department of Student Diversity and Multicultural Affairs of Loyola University Chicago is excited to announce it will present its second annual Black Women’s Retreat on March 15th and March 16th, 2008. Participants of this two-day, off-campus conference work to bridge gaps between generations of women and build bridges across the disciplines in support of our success at Loyola and beyond.
This year’s theme, “Our Loyolan Legacy: Our Journey towards Success,” approaches the wellbeing and achievement of the University’s African American community from a holistic perspective. Doing so, we seek to define success with regard to our history and our unique needs to look at wellness in terms of faith, academics, career and finance, campus leadership, and service. In this way, this conference provides the knowledge and tools for personal success and motivation towards serving the whole community through their leadership and excellence. The Black Women’s Retreat also provides an opportunity for participants to form and nurture profound connections with other influential women outside the classroom, in the interest of benefitting the Loyola and African American communities.
