Diversity Conference Grant Application
National Conference on Race and Ethnicity (NCORE)
Dates TBA
In 1988, The Southwest Center for Human Relations Studies launched the first Annual National Conference for Race & Ethnicity in American Higher Education (NCORE) to address the resurgence of racist incidents in higher education. Since its inception, NCORE has evolved into a vital national resource for higher education institutions, providing an annual multicultural forum that attracts Black/African Americans, American Indians, Asian/Pacific Islanders, Latino/as, and European Americans representing campuses across the United States. http://www.ncore.ou.edu
Loyola University Chicago’s Department of Student Diversity and Multicultural Affairs will invite 3-4 undergraduate freshman, sophomore, or junior students to attend NCORE. This is a great opportunity for students committed to diversity education and awareness. This conference will seek to enhance their knowledge and skills surrounding these issues. If you are selected as a grant recipient, it will cover your flight, conference registration (if not a Student Scholarship recipient) and meals for the duration of the conference. Nominations will also be accepted for candidates by submitting name, email and phone to Benjamin Harris @ bharri7@luc.edu.
