“And Freedom For All: Martin Luther King Jr. & the Civil Rights Movement” Exhibition
A celebration of the life of the “drum major for justice,” the DuSable Museum of African American History will present “And Freedom for All: Martin Luther King Jr. & The Civil Rights Movement.” “And Freedom for All” contains fifty (50) unpublished photographs from the archives of LOOK Magazine photographer Stanley Tretick and depicts the March participants surrounding the Lincoln Memorial; African Americans participating in the March; and President John F. Kennedy and Vice President Lyndon Johnson at the White House, U.S. Capitol and Lincoln Memorial with Martin Luther King, Jr., and organizers. Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for students and senior citizens, $1 for children ages 6 through 12 and children under the age of 6 are free. Sundays are FREE to all courtesy of Bank of America FREE SUNDAYS. The Museum may be reached by CTA buses # 3, # 4, and # 55 and parking is also available on the premises. MLK at Northwestern - Keynote Address: Alexis Herman
In recognition of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, the University assembled a variety of programs to cause reflection on the life and legacy of Dr. King. The offerings include lectures, service opportunities, discussions, films, music and theater. Highlights of the program include keynote addresses by former U.S. Secretary of Labor Alexis Herman. This program includes music and a performance by Northwestern student groups.

Commemorate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at the Chicago History Museum. The Chicago Chamber Choir will perform an inspirational collection of songs and spirituals. Dramatic performances will reflect Dr. King’s messages of peace and justice. Free admission.

Loretta J. Ross, founder and the National Coordinator of the SisterSong Women of Color Reproductive Health Collective, will reflect on the life and legacy of Rev. MLK at Northwestern - Alpha Phi Alpha Candlelight Vigil with Eva Jefferson Paterson
In recognition of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, the University assembled a variety of programs to cause reflection on the life and legacy of Dr. King. The offerings include lectures, service opportunities, discussions, films, music and theater. Highlights of the program included civil rights attorney and activist Eva Jefferson Paterson, a Northwestern University alumna on the Evanston campus. This program includes music and a performance by Northwestern student groups.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Celebration
The Brotherhood Chorale was founded in 1969 and has grown to more than 160 members. Directed by Brian Rice, the Chorale has build an impressive repertoire. Don’t miss the opportunity to hear them perform at this annual community celebration. Proceeds from this concert benefit the William Warfield Endowed Scholarship Fund.  Admission is $15.
