M.Ed. in Instructional Leadership

The M.Ed. in Instructional Leadership degree prepares educators for leadership positions in public and private schools and other educational service agencies. The program is offered in two “tracks”. Both include leadership courses that emphasize the theory and practice of managing schools. The track for the Catholic Educator (CE) cohort focuses on being able to take a leadership role in Catholic schools. The track for the Chicagoland Partners for English Lanugage Learners (CPELL) cohort emphasizes instructional leadership in schools which serve students from mutilingual/multicultural backgrounds.

Acknowledging the growth and diversity found in many school systems today, our programs pride themselves in preparing candidates equipped to handle the rigors of being an instructional leader in urban and suburban school settings as well as making decisions within the broader contexts of equity and social justice.
