What follows is a list of links to a selection of useful Websites related to the areas of ethics and social justice. Their appearance in this page does not constitute or imply endorsement by the Center of Ethics and Social Justice.
This selection lists (a) homepages of ethics associations that address specific issues and (b) sites rich in resources that are essentially web-based, and that cannot be accessed otherwise (e.g. streaming video conferences, online bibliographies, etc.)

- List of Ethics Centers, Domestic and International at Bentley College.
A very thorough list of Ethics Centers and institutions working on ethics (especially on business ethics), offering contact names, addresses, phone numbers, and email and Internet information.
- Calendar of National and International Ethics conferences at San Diego's Ethics Updates website.
- Codes of Ethics Online
Illinois Institute of Technology's Center for the Study of Ethics in the Professions has put its Collection of Codes of Ethics (over 800) on the Web. The site features also a number of useful articles and resources on how to write and use Codes of Ethics in the different professions.
- Codes of Conduct/Practice/Ethics from Around the World
A smaller, sui-generis collection, its main strength is on computer-use codes of conduct.
- Video Resources Online. (sites listed here have video conferences on a variety of themes. Sites with conferences with a specific focus are listed under each topic below.)
- Video Resources at Lawrence Hinman's "Ethics Updates", San Diego University - Probably the largest collection (over 200) of video conferences available online!
- Notre Dame Center for Ethics and Culture has a good collection of conferences, including its Fall conferences 2000-2003.
- The Kenan Lectures (1998-2004), at the Kenan Institute for Ethics, Duke University.

Ethics and Technology
- Ethics and Technology Conference Series
The goal of this series of annual conferences is to foster interdisciplinary dialogue about ethical and social challenges triggered by the rapid diffusion of information technology. Begun in 1996, the series is now in its 7th. installment.

CPSR is a global organization of computer scientists and others promoting the responsible use of computer technology. Founded in 1981, CPSR educates policymakers and the public on a wide range of issues dealing with the impact of computer technology on society. It has now members in over 30 countries.

Health-Care Ethics: Resources
- Bibliographies on Bioethics: At the Kennedy Institute of Ethics, Georgetown University, the National Reference Center for Bioethics Literature (NRCBL) hosts, among other things, a set of bibliographies for research in bioethics. A great place to begin research!
- Radio talks on Health Care Ethics:"Do No Harm: a radio magazine on medical ethics" - A collection of one-hour radio discussions on medical ethics at the Duke Center for the Study of Medical Ethics and Humanities.
- Online Consultation on Catholic Bioethics, at the National Catholics Bioethics Center (NCBC).
- Volunteers in Health Carehas a wealth of resources for volunteers who want to improve access to health care, including very detailed guides on how to run free clinics, overcoming language barriers, organizing volunteering efforts, etc.
- Resources on HIV at HivDent. A large list of resources, organizations and informational websites dealing with the different aspects of AIDS.
Health-Care Ethics: End-of-Life Care
- Hospice Foundation of America provides leadership in the development and application of hospice and its philosophy of care, conducting programs of development, education and research, that assist those who cope either personally or professionally with terminal illness, death, and the process of grief.
- National Family Caregivers Association: The NFCA supports, empowers, educates, and speaks up for the more than 50 million Americans who care for a chronically ill, aged, or disabled loved one. NFCA reaches across the boundaries of different diagnoses, different relationships and different life stages to address the common needs and concerns of all family caregivers.
- Caring Connections, a program of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO), provides a wealth of free resources, information and motivation for those caring for a family member or friend.
Among its services, it provides free state-specific advance directive documents and instructions.
Dental Ethics Resources
- List of Dental Health Organizations at the American Dental Hygienists' Association (ADHA) - A comprehensive list of oral and general health organizations can be found at this site.
Since the link above sufficiently covers oral health organizatizations in general, this section will list specifically sites that offer useful resources regarding ethical/social justice aspects of oral health.
- The American Society for Dental Ethics (ASDE) (Previously PEDNET)
- ADA Foundation is the charitable arm of the American Dental Association.
- HIVDENT is a not-for-profit coalition of concerned health care professionals committed to assuring access to high quality oral health care services for adults, adolescents, and children living with HIV disease. HIVDENT disseminates state-of-the-art treatment information and shares expertise in advocacy, development, training, integration, and evaluation of oral health services for the HIV-infected population.
In this site you will find several sections on the oral manifestations of HIV disease and a large picture gallery, plus information on infection control, post-exposure protocols, pediatric/adolescent care, medications, funding and other resources.
- National Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped (a charitable affiliate of the American Dental Association). They operate three programs:
- Donated Dental Services (DDS): Through this program, elderly and medically compromised patients are linked with dentists in their communities to receive free comprehensive dental treatment, including prosthetics.
- Dental HouseCalls: Dedicated volunteer dentists treat patients in nursing homes, community mental health centers, special education centers, residences of the homebound, and facilities serving people with developmental disabilities, by transporting mobile dental equipment in a van to these special sites.
- Bridge (Campaign of Concern) provides in-service training to nurses, teachers, case managers, residential staff, and parents of adult DD children to help improve oral hygiene and to follow up with routine dental care.
- Volunteers in Health Care has very complete pdf manuals for Starting a Dental Program for the Uninsured (intended for people interested in opening a dental clinic, expanding services at an existing medical clinic, or setting up a referral network of participating dentists), Recruiting and Retaining Dental Volunteers (to help individuals and organizations understand some of the challenges of creating a dental program using volunteers and to help with approaches for recruitment and retention), Starting a Free Clinic, etc.
- Oral Health America develops, implements, and facilitates educational and service programs designed to raise awareness of oral health's importance to total health.
Journalism Ethics Resources
- Ethics Advice Line for Journalists puts journalists in contact with experts able to talk through an ethics dilemma from start to finish, allowing journalists to reach an informed decision through consultation. Calls are confidential and most questions are answered within 24 hours. You can submit questions online.
- Society of Professional Journalists
- Pew Center for Civic Journalism: created by The Pew Charitable Trusts to help stimulate citizen involvement in community issues, the project helps print and broadcast news organizations experiment with ways to reconnect to their communities and engage their citizens in dialogue and problem solving.
- Codes of Journalism Ethics at the Independent Press Councils - a large collection (close to 400) of codes used by media organizations from all around the world.
- Databank for European Codes of Journalism Ethics at EthicNet, University of Tampere, Finland

Peace Studies / Peace Advocacy
- Loyola University Chicago Peace Studies Program: Given the pervasiveness of contemporary violence and conflict, it becomes imperative to explore patterns of conflict resolution and peacemaking grounded in commitments to social justice.
Loyola's Peace Studies Minor Program is the only such program in the Chicago area. It focuses on three distinct spheres of violence, conflict, and peacemaking: international, societal and ecological.

- Catholic Campaign for Human Development - "Breaking the cycle of poverty - for a lifetime"
The CCHD is the domestic anti-poverty, social justice program of the U.S. Catholic bishops. Its mission is to address the root causes of poverty in the United States through promotion and support of community-controlled, self-help organizations and through transformative education. CCHD supports local groups as they create jobs, improve neighborhoods, train adults for employment at a living wage, keep schools safe and enriching for children, and raise leaders for the future.
