The Center for Experiential Learning works with a variety of organizations that provide internship opportunities to students. Students must enroll in an internship course at Loyola University in order to receive academic credit for an internship. This hot list consists of featured internships recently made available to Loyola students through the Center for Experiential Learning, with more details available on RamblerLink.

ABC Communications
ABC Communications (located in Winnetka, IL) is seeking Multiple Interns to work in several departments. Sales and Marketing interns will primarily conduct research and data entry. The graphic design intern will aid in the writing of articles and production of advertising and news releases. The intern working in the customer support department will budget event planning, work in vendor relations/ public relations, and aid in programming of events.
Academy of Dance, Official School of The Joffrey Ballet
The Academy of Dance (located at 10 East Randolph St) is seeking Film Creation and Editing Intern to collaborate with Academy Artistic Director to edit, compose, and render a video piece to be premiered at The Academy of Dance Trainee Program Concert in March 2010. Candidates must have a flexible schedule and must be comfortable in using their own creativity.
American Red Cross of Greater Chicago
American Red Cross of Greater Chicago (located at 2200 W Harrison St), is seeking a Marketing & Communications Intern. The intern will have specific project work in the areas of marketing and communications and will support the activities of the department. Responsibilities include: securing vendor bids for marketing projects, writing stories for the press, conducting marketing-related research. The candidate must have experience in Marketing, strong writing skills, proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Chicago Chocolate Tours
Chicago Chocolate Tours is seeking a Marketing and Office Intern to coordinate initiatives with CARE, the charity of choice, pitching Chicago Chocolate Tours to the media through press releases and other outreach, and marketing the company to bridal networks and other marketing segments. Candidate must love chocolate.
Chicago Children’s Museum
At Chicago children’s Museum (located at Navy Pier), interns have the chance to work on significant projects with creative professional staff members. Interns are expected to complete 200 hours of service, generally over a 3-4 month period of time. Applications are currently being accepted for eight internship opportunities.
City Year Chicago
City Year Chicago (located at 36 S Wabash Ave. Suite 1500) is seeking a City Heroes Team Leader to carry out the excellent standards of the City Year Model. A team leader will demonstrate these standards by mentoring and leading a group of high school students to help the students develop their own leadership skills. Students in this position will learn about urban education challenges and opportunities and youth literacy and positive development. An ideal candidate is one who aspires to positively impact youth by setting a good example and leading them through service learning as a City Hero.

YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago
YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago (located at 801 N. Dearborn) is seeking a Public Relations/ Communications Intern to assist in the execution of the Association’s strategic public relations/ communication plan, as well as production of ongoing publications. Responsibilities include: write/produce/ distribute YMCA connections, execute local tactics for branches per public relations/communications plan, and monitor target media outlets for emerging story opportunities for defined YMCA key messages. The candidate must have outstanding oral and written skills, as well as, strong communications skills.
