Dr. Vigen is an Associate Professor of Christian Social Ethics at Loyola University Chicago. She holds a doctoral degree in social and theological ethics from Union Theological Seminary in New York, a master’s degree in theology and ethics from Graduate Theological Union, Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary, Berkeley, CA, and a bachelor’s degree in Spanish, religion, and Hispanic studies from St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minnesota.
Dr. Vigen specializes in medical and health care ethics. Her research and teaching interests include health and health care issues in marginalized populations, and global and U.S. health and healthcare inequalities. Dr. Vigen’s recent publications include Ethnography as Theology and Ethics, co-authored/edited with Christian Scharen. (London: T&T Clark, 2011) and “Technology and Health Care in the 21st Century,” in Religion and Ethics: Issues in 21st Century North America, edited by Paul Myhre (Anselm Press, forthcoming 2013).
