The Campaign for the Future of Loyola

Loyola launches capital campaign

Hundreds attend gala event on September 20, 2008

Loyola University Chicago celebrated the official launch of Partner: The Campaign for the Future of Loyola on Saturday, September 20. A beautiful gala was held under tents on State Street near the University's Water Tower Campus and was considered by all to be a great success. University President Michael J. Garanzini, S.J., and Dr. Paul K. Whelton, president and CEO of the Loyola University Health System, were present to unveil the campaign to hundreds of Loyola alumni and friends and to encourage their support.

The $500-million-dollar campaign is the largest fundraising initiative in Loyola's history, and, once completed, it will outfit the University and Health System with the resources to remain leaders in education and healthcare in Chicagoland and to become more competitive nationally. So far, $270 million of the $500 million goal has been committed. Loyola's plans for the future, while ambitious, are seemingly within reach.

As the public phase of Partner: The Campaign for the Future of Loyola gets underway, Loyola asks for the partnership of all Loyolans in creating a university and health system equipped to take on the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century and beyond.
