Salon '24: Data Science for Social Thinkers
"Money on my Mind"
The Parkinson School of Health Sciences and Public Health and The Center for Health Outcomes and Informatics Research (CHOIR) are hosting Salon '24: Data Science for Social Thinkers, "Money on my Mind" on May 16th from 9am - 6pm at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago. The Salon focuses on tying data science to real-world impact and includes presentations that look at data science topics from a different lens. “Money on My Mind” aims to spark conversations around financial influences in public health decisions. Registration is free.

Leaf Goes Live
October 2023
The Leaf cohort discovery tool is now live and available to researchers. Leaf is a self-service web application which allows cohort discovery from clinical data from single or multiple institutions. Leaf is an Institute for Translational Medicine (ITM) initiative, and the other participating ITM institutions are RUSH and the University of Chicago.

Eduroam
Are you a researcher traveling to other universities and looking for an internet connection? Make sure to check out Eduroam, a secure federated network service that allows Loyola students, faculty, and staff to use their LUC credentials to access WiFi hotspots at other Eduroam-affiliated institutions. Eduroam is available at more than 5,500 locations worldwide.

Update: National COVID Cohort Collaborative (N3C) Data Ready for Use
Since last fall Loyola has been a participant in the National COVID Cohort Collaborative (N3C). The N3C is a national resource that enables large cohort Covid-19 clinical research. A Data Use Agreement (DUA) has recently been completed which allows Loyola researchers to request access to N3C data. More information on N3C and how to request data can be found on the NCATS-N3C page.

External REDCap Site Goes Live
The external Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap) site is now available for research use. This allows researchers and participants to access REDCap functions such as data entry, surveys, and electronic consenting from off-campus networks. This also facilitates multicenter studies by allowing Loyola to be the host data site.
