Signature Activities
i. Welcome Black Reception
The Center for Black Student Excellence warmly invites students back to campus each fall. This event provides a space to reconnect with old friends, make new ones, and meet with faculty and staff to learn more about what is offered at Loyola and make professional connections that will help you inside and outside of the classroom.
ii. Black History Month Signature Series
Every year, the Center for Black Student Excellence celebrates Black History Month with Ramblers! Check this year’s past events hosted in collaboration with the Department of Programming, the Faculty Center for Ignatian Pedagogy, the Office of Institutional DEI, and the Study Abroad office.

iii. Women’s History Month Signature Series
In 2024, we hosted the “Living to Tell the Tale” event to learn more about Wynette’s mission to renew the hearts of all people through dialogue, community engagement, and gaining practical skills for growth. Attendees were invited to transform their mindset and life with Wynette Richardson by learning how to tell their own tales.
iv. Sankofa Celebration
The Center for Black Student Excellence welcomes students to participate in the annual Sankofa Celebration. This celebration is a chance to highlight the accomplishments of our graduating students (undergraduate, graduate, and/or professional studies). All Ramblers are welcome to any of CBSE’s events.
