Loyola University Chicago along with our partners at the University of Illinois at Chicago are working with Chicago Public Schools (CPS) on
one of the most ambitious high school projects ever attempted in an urban schools. As part of the High School Transformation project, we
are working with CPS teachers and administrators to develop an integrated sequence of science classes that reinforces the content knowledge
and critical thinking skills high school graduates of the 21st Century will need. Using an inquiry based teaching approach, students will
learn science by engaging in science: formulating questions, conducting experiments and analyzing and evaluating the results of those

Loyola's Center for Science & Math Education (CSME) in association with Boeing Corporation and
Chicago Public Schools (CPS) announces a new program designed to assist CPS teachers earn their
middle school math endorsement. This 14 month program will provide teachers with all of the
mathematics and technology content courses needed to earn the endorsement. Because of generous
funding from Boeing, CPS and Loyola, tuition is free for all teachers selected.

provide current CPS science teachers with the background necessary to qualify for an endorsement to teach High
School Physics in Illinois.
