The Science Teaching Scholars Program (STSP) is a partnership between
Loyola’s Center for Science & Math Education (CSME) and
Chicago Public Schools (CPS) to provide twenty-four teachers with
an extraordinary opportunity for career advancement in science education.
With funding provided by Loyola University, the Illinois State
Board of Education (ISBE) and CPS, teachers will take 9 courses
in science and science education over a 3 year period.
These graduate level courses will count toward our developing
Masters of Education degree in Science Education. The program includes
six science courses and three science education courses.
All courses will be offered in the summer and late spring,
along with enhancement activities throughout the academic year.
Participants successfully completing the program will not only earn
an endorsement in middle school science education but will also be
at or near completion of our developing M.Ed. in Science Education.
Because of generous funding by Loyola, ISBE and CPS,
this program will be
FREE OF CHARGE
for the 24 selected applicants.
